The 1221 Brushed Face with Polished Window option is available on AP2, AP2x, AP3, AP3x, AP3L, and AP3Lx configurations. You can use any color of transparent powdercoat on top of this surface preparation. This means you can not only use a normal matte or gloss clear coat but any of our transparent tints which include Bronze, Gold, Gunmetal, Smoke, Red, Blue, Purple, and Titanium. These finishes are also available in gloss or matte clear versions. You also have the option of applying the transparent color prior to brushing the face surface. This means pairing with a darker transparent color like our Smoke, creates a high level of contrast highlighting the extreme detail put into the finish. Many clients pair a matte finish center disc with gloss outer lips or vice versa to increase the visual depth of the wheel for added contrast and an even deeper looking wheel.

Want to push your wheel specification beyond the normal standard but a brushed clear wheel is a bit too understated or a full polished clear wheel is a bit too “bling”? Consider optioning your 1221 wheels order with a two tone prepped surface treatment that combines our traditional polished and brushed surfaces into a new finish category that has an entirely unique look. Our combination Brushed Face with Polished Windows has your entire wheel prepared with a base polished aluminum finish to exacting standards as a first step. It is then transformed by doing a second pass of surface brushing preparation to the face of the center disc which creates the combination of surface finishes. Then you can choose from any of our transparent powder coat colors and either matte or gloss clear to complete the process. Utilizing both brushed and polished surfaces allows for added visual depth to the wheel and a much bigger impact when viewing the wheels, especially in direct sunlight, than doing either a full brushed or full polished wheel on its own.
